Terms of Service

Last updated 18 September 2026

These terms apply when you book Summit Trails & Repairs to work on your bike. They’re written to be read, not to catch you out.

Who we are

Summit Trails & Repairs is a sole trader business based in Yandina, Queensland, providing mobile bicycle repairs and servicing across the Sunshine Coast, and Brisbane by arrangement.

Quotes and prices

Service prices are listed on our website and are for labour only. Parts and consumables — chains, pads, cables, tyres, sealant, bearings — are charged on top.

You will always be told the cost of a part before it is fitted. If we open something up and find the job is bigger than expected, we stop and talk to you before going further. You won’t get a bill you haven’t agreed to.

Some jobs are quoted separately rather than covered by a service price — badly buckled wheels, seized components, suspension internals and similar. We’ll price those before starting.

A travel fee may apply depending on your distance from Yandina. Current rates are on our website.

Booking, cancelling and access

Please give us as much notice as you can if you need to cancel or reschedule. We don’t charge cancellation fees, but repeated no-shows may mean we ask for payment up front next time.

Because we come to you, we need somewhere reasonably safe and level to set up — a driveway, carport or flat patch of ground. For a full service we may ask to use your tap or hose. If we arrive and can’t safely do the work, we’ll reschedule.

The condition of your bike

We look the bike over with you before we start, and point out anything already worn, damaged or cracked at that time.

Bicycle parts wear out. Sometimes a component fails during or shortly after a service simply because it was already at the end of its life — a chain that skips on a worn cassette, a seized bolt that shears, a cracked frame found during cleaning. We’ll always tell you what we find, but we’re not responsible for pre-existing wear or damage we didn’t cause.

If we tell you something is unsafe to ride and you choose not to have it repaired, that decision is yours.

Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work, unless we’ve agreed otherwise. We accept bank transfer, PayID, card and cash.

Our work

If something we did isn’t right, tell us and we’ll fix it. We guarantee our workmanship for 30 days from the date of service. Come back to us before you go anywhere else — we’d rather put it right than have you unhappy.

This guarantee covers the labour we performed. It doesn’t cover new wear from riding, crash damage, or parts failing for reasons unrelated to our work. Parts we supply carry whatever warranty their manufacturer provides, and we’ll help you claim it.

There are some jobs we don’t currently take on — suspension internals and dropper post internals among them. If your bike needs something outside what we do, we’ll say so and point you to someone who does it.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, and any attempt to do so would have no effect.

Under the Australian Consumer Law, our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. Among other things, services must be provided with due care and skill, be fit for the purpose you told us about, and be supplied within a reasonable time.

If we fail to meet one of those guarantees, you are entitled to have the problem fixed, and in the case of a major failure, to cancel the service and get a refund of any unused portion, plus compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

Goods we supply also come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded.

You can read more about your rights at accc.gov.au/consumers.

Riding is your responsibility

Mountain biking carries risk. A serviced bike is not a guarantee against crashes, mechanical failure or injury. Please check your own bike before riding — brakes, quick releases, bolts — as any rider should, and wear a helmet.
