Privacy Policy
Last updated 7 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Summit Trails & Repairs collects, why, and what we do with it. It covers both this website and the repair service itself.
Summit Trails & Repairs is a sole trader business based in Yandina, Queensland, servicing the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.
The short version
This website sets no cookies and does not track you. Nothing you type on it is sent to us — the booking helper just writes a text message on your own phone. There are no advertising pixels and no sign-ups. We only hold personal information you give us directly when you book a repair — your name, phone number, address and what bike you ride.
What we collect
When you contact us or book a job, we collect what we need to do the work and get back to you:
- Your name
- Your phone number, and your email address if you send one
- The address where the job is, so we can turn up
- Details of your bike and the work done on it
You give us this yourself, by phone, text or in person. We don’t buy contact lists or collect information about you from anywhere else.
When you visit this website, no personal information is collected by us. Specifically:
- No cookies are set. Nothing is stored in your browser.
- There is no contact form that sends information to us, no mailing list and no account to create.
- The booking helper on the home page builds a text message inside your browser. Nothing you type into it is saved or sent anywhere. It only reaches us if you choose to send that text from your own phone.
- There are no advertising or social media tracking pixels.
Third parties involved in running the site
Two services are involved in delivering this website to you:
- Cloudflare hosts the site and provides cookieless visitor analytics. This gives us aggregate counts — page views, roughly which country visitors are in, which links they arrived from. It does not identify you and sets no cookies. As the host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to serve the page, as any web host must.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. Your browser requests the font files from Google, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
We have no ability to identify individual visitors from any of this.
Why we hold it and what we do with it
We use your details to quote the work, turn up at the right place, do the job, contact you about it, and take payment. If you ask us to, we may remind you when your next service is due.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone. We don’t send marketing to you unless you’ve asked for it, and if we ever do, there will be a way to stop it.
We only share your information where we have to — for example with a supplier if a part needs to be ordered or warrantied for your bike, with our payment provider when you pay by card, or where the law requires it.
Payments
If you pay by card, that payment is handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number. If you pay by bank transfer, your bank handles it and we only see the reference and the amount. Cash leaves no record with anyone but us.
How long we keep it
We keep job records for as long as we need them to stand behind our work and meet our tax and record-keeping obligations — generally five years, which is what the ATO requires for business records. After that we delete or destroy them.
Keeping it safe
Job records are kept on password-protected devices and accounts. We take reasonable steps to protect them, but no method of storage is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Getting at your information, or getting it deleted
You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it’s wrong, or ask us to delete it. Just call or text 0435 689 044. There’s no charge and we’ll deal with it as quickly as we reasonably can.
We may need to keep some records even after a deletion request, where tax law requires it.
Where we stand legally
Summit Trails & Repairs is a small business with an annual turnover well under $3 million, and is not a health service provider or any of the other categories that are covered regardless of size. On that basis the business currently falls within the small business exemption under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
We’ve published this policy anyway, because you deserve to know what happens to your details, and because we’d rather hold ourselves to the Australian Privacy Principles than hide behind an exemption. Privacy law in Australia is under reform and that exemption may not last — if it changes, so will our obligations, and this page will be updated.
Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your information, tell us first — call or text 0435 689 044 and we’ll try to sort it out. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
